Hold on
Hold on, Masking tape, acrylic on canvas, 27 x 19cm, 2024
The yellow masking tape struggles to bear the weight of the canvas, slowly sliding down day by day.
Our school's gallery does not allow students to use highly adhesive materials on the walls, nor does it permit drilling holes. In the space usage guidelines, students are advised to use tools like masking tape that do not leave residue when sticking things. The content on the canvas is rendered secondary, with the canvas itself being used as a "readymade," while the junction between the masking tape and the wall becomes the core of the piece.

Teh-Chun Sacred Teachings, Paper, photo frame, 2024
The " Teh-Chun Art Gallery" is an art space available for free application by students of the department, but it is restricted by many outdated rules. For example, walls cannot be drilled, only hanging wires are allowed, and using highly adhesive materials that could damage the wall is prohibited. If anything needs to be pasted, only mild methods like masking tape can be used... These outdated rules also symbolize some of the features of the university. Learning art in such an environment led to the formation of this exhibition.
